Meet Our Founders

Marcus Wood, a CFO who led finance teams from startups to multinationals, knew firsthand the cost of inefficiency. Manual reports, version chaos, and delays were everywhere. With the rise of generative AI, he saw the future, and knew finance needed its own system. Not a generic chatbot, but intelligent agents that think like a CFO.

He teamed up with Jaimyn Mayer, a systems engineer and maker with deep technical chops, startup agility, and a bias toward practical, scalable builds. Together, they set out to embed decades of finance expertise into a system that works as fast and smart as the best teams. but with no spreadsheets, no bloat, and no BS.

About Marcus Wood, CEO & Co-Founder

As a CFO with global experience across five countries and companies ranging from Fortune 500s to startups, I’ve consistently faced the same obstacles: fragmented systems, manual processes, and slow, unreliable reporting.

Frustrated by inefficiencies early in my career, I began automating workflows before it was cool, writing VBA scripts to escape spreadsheet chaos. When ChatGPT emerged in 2022, I saw its potential immediately and began building what would become Pecunio AI.

Today, I’m building Pecunio AI to embed decades of finance experience into a smart, trustworthy platform that acts like a true team member, automating the busywork and amplifying the brainwork.

We’re not just replacing spreadsheets, we’re building the brain of modern finance.

About Jaimyn Mayer, Co-Founder & CTO

I’m a lifelong builder and technologist passionate about using elegant engineering to solve real problems. My career spans complex systems, from full-stack platforms to cloud infrastructure, across startups, corporates, and everything in between. I also founded Brisbane’s largest community makerspace and have led tech initiatives in both nonprofit and political arenas.

I bring a practical, hands-on approach rooted in hackathons, venture studios, and consulting work. After meeting Marcus, it was clear we shared a vision: combining deep finance expertise with cutting-edge AI to build something truly impactful.

At Pecunio, I lead with an “engineering-first” mindset, using the power of LLMs and thoughtful system design to create intelligent agents that drive real efficiencies across finance teams. We’re not just building tools, we’re building a smarter operating system for modern finance.
